feel the rush
this day has been entirely exhausting for me.. after three days of being enslaved under tons of paperwork, we were reassigned for a day in the banquet kitchen.. we were expected to serve 400 people a 3-course meal -- plated.. the event was held at NBC tent at the Fort.. it was more of a fashion show, i even saw a few celebrities such as the hubby of jean garcia in kampanerang kuba (not yul servo) and other models that i am not familiar with their names but i recognize their faces..
a day before, we were asked by the ESC to come to the hotel by 1pm.. today, we arrived at 1pm but upon reporting to the banquet chef he told us to come back by 3pm because there was nothing else to do.. so the three of us (josh, shiela and me) ate lunch at mcDonalds at the paseo center hoping to let time flyby.. we went back to the hotel by 2pm and finished a few things regarding our requirements.. by 3pm we reported to the banquet.. we were brought then to the fort at around 430-5pm or so.. we prepared the plates for the ceasar salad, laid them all at the table and unloaded all the food that was in the truck.. while the boys were doing that i was distracted by the models who were rehearsing..
ang daming gwapo!sayang ndi ako nkapgpapicture..:Dservice time came close - i was plating the 250 plus ceasar salads, putting letttuce in each plate while the other guys were placing the croutons, bacon bits and parmesan cheese.. it was really exciting as i look back on the plates that i used i saw a long line of plates which made me feel very excited and at the same time pressured because service time was approaching.. after the ceasar salad we ran back in the cold kitchen and help in the dispatching of the........
main course - fish in vermont sauce with pasta in marinara sauce and other veggie sidings.. i was putting basil leaves on each plate.. i lost count when everything was coming to me.. we were again rushing because some of the guests were already complaining.. i felt my back ache as we finished the main course..
dessert time - chocolate parfait with french tuiles and chocolate fences was the dessert.. actually i wasnt supposed to be part of the dessert team but we decided to help anyway.. i helped with the placing of the tuiles in each plate.. well it was easy by that time because most of us were helping already and the guests by the way were very demanding so they really needed to rush..
after that, we were sent home.. we werent expected to help in the cleaning up anyway.. so we went home.. and here i am writing this entry because i could still feel the excitement of what took place this evening.. though we didnt finish the show we were still lucky that we had the chance to be a part of that team.. i bet the guest enjoyed what they had because it was a really a feast fit for the royals.. *wink* :)

i only managed to take just one picture.. this was when we were doing the ceasar salad..
so much plates, went all the way to the end of the long table.. felt so exciting..
i really did enjoy myself..:)

by the way, this is team gateway..
me, shiela and josh.. :)
