GLORY BE!!

HELL YEAH!! 11th YHE was a total stress maker!!.. the shopping for goods, grocery, plates, garnish, table set-up, service practice all paid off!!.. damn were we tired!!.. this past week i have been busy with almost everything.. tues was time for the best chocolate cake, and man it was a disaster!!.. all the things that we planned for it did not come to place.. the mousse did not set coz of the freako who turned the freezer off, the cake was like a cookie as in like rock hard because of the sudden loss of gas so the ovens' temp went down also and most of all the garnishes that we ought to do did not come out the way we wanted it to be.. i was almost at the point of conceeding, giving up, raising the white flag.. but thank God we presented it in a way that we did not look like shit-- somehow.. we also got some good compliments from a few teachers like mr. V which was by the way so hard to please.. during honestly i did not really hope that we'd win..

wednesday came, shiela and i went shopping for plates at SM manila but the cheapest ones we could find were not that nice looking at all so we decided to just borrow them from school.. The culinary catering christmas challenge was one of the biggest competitions of YHE, it was actually the highlight it.. out of many students who passed their concepts paper, 8 teams were chosen and luckily we were one of them.. this time we planned the menu ourselves.. thought of everything.. shiela, china and i were on the kitchen team.. aza, jonna and aezy for the table setup.. chinx and jan uy for service and raymond barney for the bartending.. we chose to do a filipino christmas since it was what we were most familiar with and also it was Christmas edition of the YHE.. the main ingredients for a 4 course menu were prawns for appetizer, turkey for main course and cream cheese for dessert.. we've come up with a menu more inclined with the modernization of the filipinos in terms of infusing new flavors with their menus.. the recipes are:

prawns in sugarcane - chopped prawn with porkfat shaped into a ball deepfried and skewered on the sugarcane.. but unfortunately we didnt find any sugarcane so we had to substitute lemon grass instead..
asian style turkey - marinated in flavors of asia such as soy sauce, sugar, oyster sauce and five spice powder with an accompaniment of rice stuffing and caramelized apples.. which by the end of the cooking i had a hard time plating because of the irregular shape/cut of the turkey.. and the winner..
biko langka cheesecake - the world famous cheesecake filipino inspired by infusing langka as its flavor and using biko as its base.. garnished with french tuiles and banana chips on top.. :) shiela had a hard time with this because it did not set again and kept on melting.. but in terms of taste it was sure scrumptious.. :)

on the otherhand, the table set up ended up nice after all the runnin to divisoria, megamall and sm by aza, z and jonna.. they were panicking at first but at the end everything turned out fine.. same as to the service chinx and jan did good too.. :)

and here we are the awarding.. i never really expected it but THANK GOD we won!!!we were the best in mis en place & cooking team which was by the way so flattering because we really thought thejudges didnt like the presentation and all but the way they gave compliments like the cheesecake was the best one yet and the turkey was so tasty though it did not have any sauce and the prawns were really innovative and tasty!!.. though we ended up just the at third place in overall it was really overwhelming.. we were so happy as in!! our friends won too the best service and ended up 2nd place.. :) it was a real fine day for all of us.. :) i can not explain much more how much i feel but the thing is that i just wanted to write this down because it is something that for sure i'd never forget.. :)

too many sleepless days..:)

last thursday as i was not expecting it, bez came to manila again.. but this time he had other plans in mind, he had not just a date but dates..:) it was with tow of the most recent women in his life, thr first one being the "so-called" girlfriend so far and the other was a former classmate whom he had some sorta "MU" years back.. two of which had admitted that they both had this attraction for bez.. wow gwapo naman ni bestfriend hahah..:) pero it was kinda calming to think about it coz finally he was over the X, who apparantly kept on insisting for them to talk or somehow get back together again.. but the thing was he finally agreed just yesterday (tuesday) for them to talk.. they patched things up and the rest should be left unwritten haha.. :) well for the past 2 days that we've been together, as usual sleepovers again, it was really nice having these small talks or should i say talk-until-you-fall-asleep kind of convos.. we talked about almost everything, from past till recent.. reminiscing moments in the past really gives you a broad and long time to talk and laugh out of it.. :) we also watched the last full show of the incredibles at gb3 with ricky, ryan and glen.. that friday was indeed spent with lots of laughs and wonders hehehe.. :)

as for me, i went to batangas last saturday to celebrate kriska 18th bday.. she was so cute, as usual.. :) jasmine trias inspired.. :) i slept almost the entire day because of too much exhaustion while they swam at white cove.. buhay batugan in other terms ako hahah.. :) well i guess that would be all for now.. till next time.. :)

48 years in 4 days.. :)

at last! we've met.. after much awaited planning ang forcing, we met.. what i really meant was bez and i met.. :) it's indeed true that when plans are set on a particular day they dont come to pass but when you least expect it here it comes barging at your doorstep.. :) honestly i've missed him so much that i almost knocked him off the floor when we met up at Rp.. aza and shiela were watching and was so surprised yet was laughing of what i did.. :) it went out like this actually..

thursday afternoon - we met up at Rob place, good thing shiela had to go there to shop for a few stuff for an overnight.. after helping out shiela with her stuff we went our own ways.. bez and i went to chef d angelo as usual to eat.. then afterwards we watched a movie, white chicks which by the way was so hilarious.. :) after the movie we planned to meet up with glenn and have some get together.. i texted aldrin and good thing he was nearby.. i went home first to change and at around 1130pm we went to alfredo and had one bottle of red horse each.. :) darn was i a bit drunk then.. :) i spent the night at bez's house til the next day..

friday - we left bez's house at around 11am.. went back to my place and spent a few hours there when we finally texted glen, ricky, neil, joray and aldrin to meet up at excel.. around 5pm we were at excel and after 48 years i played counterstrike again.. :) all 7 of us had dinner at cely's but unfortunately neil and joray had to split after eating so the 5 of us went ot glen's place and drank 1 1/2 cases of san mig light which was by the way compliments of glen and ricky.. what a miracle!heheh.. :) we did videoke, and lotsa lotsa reminiscin.. we were laughin and trippin all night.. glen, aldrin and ricky planned to go to bataan the next day to spent their weekend there.. i really wanted to come but i couldnt cause i had to drive my mom to pampanga and spend our halloween there.. we probably parted ways at around 3am i guess.. it was so much fun, i was pretty sure the alcohol got into my head that time coz i was so woozy that i had to stay at bez's house again!haha.. at his place deymn we were drunk, we felt asleep as soon as we touched the bed!hahah.. :)

saturday - went back to my place at around 11am again.. i freshened up.. bez and the rest of the guys were supposed to meet up at the bus station around 5pm.. but i got a call from my sis-in-law askin me to accompany her to windmills, where my niece's gonna spend her bday.. i drove, picked up glen and aldrin and went to timog.. on the way home we decided to visit miong at his shop but came out empty handed.. we couldnt find the place to so we decided to just eat at Yellow cab!!! :) the 18 inch pizza ended up just like a normal pizza for the 4 of us.. haha.. it vanished in thin air after a few minutes.. :) after a few kwentos and kulitan we finally gave up coz i had to take them to the bus station.. we got by the station at around 630 and said our farewells.. after that ive finally felt how much ive missed those guyz, a bit awkward.. :) good thing that everyday that we were together we had pictures to remind us how happy we were.. :) i just forgot how to post them here.. :)

sunday- i was suprised that mom agreed that i go to bataan and spent the night there.. i had to drive from manila to bulacan, from bulacan to san simon, san simon to grand poppas grave:), grand poppa's grave to sta. rita to cementery and pitch dark i was ready to go ta bataan!! whew!long way!.. but before i went to bataan, tears were shed hahah! daddy was objecting on my departure, he didnt want to drive me at the crossing and take the bus blahblahblah.. i cried in frustration but with the help of my aunt, mom and sis haha he finally agreed!! :) and i was good to go.. probably i was in bataan approx 10pm.. after eating haller!!!alcohol again but this time it was bailey's.. bez had introduced a new friend, tk.. the drinking session was full of the corniest jokes one can ever hear but damn were they funny when either glen, drin or ricky was delivering them.. they also talked about their lost battle against some bataan boys in counterstrike, they were really pissed off of what they did hehe.. the night was spent that way.. we went to bed maybe at around 4am.. tk was so entertained that it appeared that he was so envious of us.. maybe because the guys were really fun to be with or something.. :)

well as for monday i was back with my family and spent the usual all souls day playing cards and bets at grand poppas grave.. :) it was so much fun also yet on the way back to manila was the really exhausting part.. i was stuck in traffic, i could feel that i was so sleepy, my eyes were shutting down at the highway.. good thing my sister did not sleep on me.. the same routine happened on my way home, bataan-pampanga-bulacan-manila.. i arrived in manila around 230am i guess.. i wasnt able to make it for my 8am class the next day coz darn was i sleepy!hehe.. :)

in conclusion, the months or even years that i havent done those things with my old friends were really fulfilling after each and every happening.. i couldnt help but smile everytime i see the pics on my fone.. bringing back the old times is really one way of spending quality time together maybe because you have so much to talk about and all.. :) the 4 days was like giving me a flashback on how my highschool life was; how highschool was a blast.. :) someday we might repeat this and i wouldnt think twice of doing it once more.. :) i just hope that it would be sooner not later because i'll be full load next term and glen is flying to singapore for his practicum.. im sure gonna miss him.. :) as for bez and i we're still in touch, as usual.. no regrets with everything that's happened.. :) well i guess that's it.. the rest is in history.. :)
